Ahh, good old dependable Trini. What would this place be without you? A war zone probably.
Trini is the kind of cat you never notice but is always around, ever in a good mood without being pushy. She is the balancing factor in our little household. When Prinny is getting fussy and Lulu is going bonkers, you can always count on Trini to lighten the mood, or when things are too tense to solve, to stay the heck away without adding oil to the fire.

Arwen is…just plain adorable. Being the youngest in a colony of five cats has taught her one thing: diplomacy and cuteness will get you just about anything.

Well, this one is actually hardest to write. Who am I? Well, I am just a crazy girl who cannot live without animals, more specifically cats.
The name Katje comes from my early IRC-days. I know there were a lot of girls out there with that name, but I was the original. It means ‘Kitten’ in Dutch, my native tongue. I have been compared to cats since the age of eight. I have had cats just about my entire life,( since I was three years old) with the exception of the two first years I lived on my own, and I went nuts.
I am about 25 years old, have a boyfriend I have successfully driven nuts and built a life with. I studied languages because what I really wanted to study(‘Cat psychology’)wasn’t available in my country. Then I volunteered at a shelter for about a year. After a while they had more staff and I had moral dilemmas with the way the shelter was run, so it was easier to just leave. I landed my first real job during that time: receptionist/assistant at an animal clinic. I have been working there for just under two years and my contract will soon end. I then hope to go back to school to study what I really wanted to study in the first place, and get a part-time job somewhere to pay for it. We will see how it goes, I guess.
Why am I doing this? Well, I enjoy a cute cat picture or story as much as the next person, probably even more. And, I must have told stories about my cats already dozens of times to my friends, and they are getting tired of hearing them ;) Cats are an incredibly source of fun though, and I enjoy writing about mine. And this way I will build up some sort of family-album over time. These sweeties are after all my babies.
I hope you will enjoy the website and everything that’s still to come. I love new projects and adventures and I absolutely abhor boredom, and this feels like a project that will let me be creative without ever becoming a chore ( I share some annoying traits with the Lulu you see, so I totally get that cat).
Who is Prinny? Wel, Prinny is a unique kitten, which I unfortunately inherited without being given a manual.

Luna....the bane of Prinnies existence. If ever there was a kitten from hell, it would be her. But she is mine, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

She has the most incredible shiny black coat, and two fiery yellow eyes to go with it. It is like having a Bonsai Panther (description curtesy of a friend of ours...) in the house. The build of her nose and head is very much like a panther. And trust me; even her personality makes you unsure about whether or not you didn’t accidentally adopt some kind of dwarfpanther-thing.

Have you noticed? I only have female cats. Well, don’t worry; this one is a guest-star. He is only staying with us for a while, before moving on to his new home.

He is at that age where he gets the Lulu-syndrome: annoy and tease everyone, pounce at just about anything and go sit next to the Prinny and then tap her lightly with your paw…that will get you whacked for sure! Somehow he has not figured out yet that the Prinny is the wrong cat to do that with. He is male, after all (no offense to the human males out there, but in my experience, male cats tend to be more adventurous and persistent but also less careful and way more ‘thick’. A female cat will try something once and learn that that’s not a good idea…a male one will at least try it 4 times before it learns the same lesson, if he learns it at all, that is).
