The Diva. She is the center of the universe. She is bigger than life, and one of the most charismatic personalities out there with an incredibly wow-factor. Think Marilyn Monroe. Now give her four paws and a tail and you get the idea.
My Prinny is a classic example. As a true member of the Russian nobility (aka Russian Blue…we think;)), she is the most incredible creature around. Fabulous skin color, elegance up the wazoo, proud slender posture, and the attitude to carry it off.

What’s the downside? Well, they are clearly high-maintenance…on everything. They will be the first to let you know they would like their petting, NOW! They do not take hints that you are busy (what do you mean, you are typing an article??? Surely, you can move that pc away RIGHT NOW, and pet me a bit!). They are the first to greet you at the door, and demand their food at once. They are neurotic control-freaks since everything has to be their way or the highway. They will love you to pieces and charm the pants off of you, but they WILL drive you nuts. One word: Dramaqueen.
They are highly strung and incredibly sensitive and emotional. That means that the slightest bit of stress can totally throw them off (in my case that meant peeing on the bed to let me know she was unhappy). They can be very loud and vocal when they disagree with something (luckily, Prinny aint that way). You cannot, repeat, cannot force them into anything. Then they just mentally block and if you are unlucky, they will strike at you out of fear. Patience is not a virtue to them, and you better not feed them from your plate, because they will refuse to eat anything else but the best otherwise. You can tell that, typically, the Diva is going to be a female cat.

Why would you want one? Because the Diva is the most incredible creature. She will be very much into having an intense bond with you, pay attention to you so you will pay attention to her, be incredibly generous in her affection and forgiveness. On top of that, she is the kind of cat everybody notices. She flaunts and performs like no other. She will give your house style and class and be the perfect entertainer. She will have flare and elegance to boot. Yes she is high-maintenance. But she is worth it. She is top-cat. No doubt ;)

How do you recognize her? It is hardest to see in kittens, but most Divas are not exactly the easiest cats to win over if she does not know you. Playing hard to get is the game, people, and she does it well (though if attention-starved she will toss this rule out and cuddle you to death ;)). However, you cannot miss her with the attitude and showing-off she is doing. Look for the sensual creature seducing you from a distance, the one you cannot take your eyes of off.
