Some kitties need zippers

Lulu6
So you get yourself three kitties. And one of them is already fixed but the other two aren’t. Then one of them goes in heat, drives you nuts, so you have it fixed. Easy. Then the other one goes in to heat. And again, you bring her to the clinic, and everything gets fixed. Ahhh, peace and quiet, right? Wrong!

Meet our Lulu. Pitch black, oh so cuddelicious and stubborn when it comes to being horny. A regular little hussy. And this kitty goes all the way to get what she wants. She mreows throughout your entire house. She huddles in front of you with her ass in your face. She purrs and pleads to get your to pet her all over. And she squirms on your carpet till the carpet is all fumbled together (see for yourself). I am not kidding. And you think you can get her fixed? Think again. She has been spayed twice and given the ‘pill’ once. My doctors are not believing this.

You have to know that occasionally they do get cats that have to be spayed twice. They’ve even had a cat that was spayed and then had a litter to then be spayed again. Incompetence? Well, as they explain it, it is possible for cats to have ovarian tissue in less than logical places. They redo the operation for free when this happens. They say they have one case like this every three years. Now considering they work at a clinic, which is pretty successful, I would say it does not happen that often. But it happened to me, or rather, our Lulu.

So, I brought her back the second time. They found some residual tissue behind the kidneys (not its right place), and removed it. But, since the vet thought they had found it now, she did not check the other side. A few months down the row, all the squirming and mreoooowing started all over yet again. They decided to give her a shot of hormones to see if she was actually in heat or just mentally insane. That was last year in February. Normally, the thing should’ve worked till June, July.

This morning I brought our Arwen to the clinic to be spayed. When I got home, Lulu started mreowing at me. And squirming. And really being cuddly. Sigh. It is February again btw. It took her a full year but she is yet again in heat. When I picked up the Arwen, I made an appointment for Lulu’s ‘fixing’. The doctors have never had to operate trice on a cat. Yay me and Lulu. I told the vet to just install a zipper in her tummy. Much easier for them. No point in stitching her up permanently anycase. Oh well, I guess we will see what will happen this time. The vet promised me she would check her trice before stitching her up and she may actually completely remove the uterus altogether. Normally this is only done with dogs, but in this case it might just be the solution. Let’s hope we get it right this time. The poor Lulu is definitely not enjoying this. And we still have a week of mreowing to go before the surgery *sigh*
