Have you noticed? I only have female cats. Well, don’t worry; this one is a guest-star. He is only staying with us for a while, before moving on to his new home.
Falcor is white and peper ‘n salt, he is about 8 months now and just about to hit puberty. He got his name from his new owner, who got her inspiration from the Never Ending Story. For now he is staying with us because his new owner is still moving and that is kind of stressful for a cat, so he can stay here and have fun with Arwen until things have settled down.
He is at that age where he gets the Lulu-syndrome: annoy and tease everyone, pounce at just about anything and go sit next to the Prinny and then tap her lightly with your paw…that will get you whacked for sure! Somehow he has not figured out yet that the Prinny is the wrong cat to do that with. He is male, after all (no offense to the human males out there, but in my experience, male cats tend to be more adventurous and persistent but also less careful and way more ‘thick’. A female cat will try something once and learn that that’s not a good idea…a male one will at least try it 4 times before it learns the same lesson, if he learns it at all, that is).
He spends most of his time though annoying the Arwen, who is a team player and doesn’t mind being bugged at least most of the time. He enjoys swinging from scratching posts, racing over beds, pestering the Lulu and the Prinny, chasing toys, and then running of with them while they are still attached with a string…only to find that that kind of does not work. Again, not that he remembers that for next time.
He is absolutely adorable and annoying to humans aswell. He chirps ever so sweetly to get some attention or solicit some play from Arwen. However, he does not get that this is not appreciated during the night, when he will wedge himself between me and my boyfriend to chirp and chatter and lick your arm all night. I can tell you, however cute it is, when you want to sleep, you just ignore or whack the cat. And that cute little tongue licking you all the time on the same place…it hurts after a while, ok? But he has a vast need for physical attention and can be made so content with just a cuddle, it is amazing. He will stretch out on his back before you to have you rub his belly. He will come and lick your ear to get your attention when you are busy typing on the computer.
He is an amazing kitten and I am glad I found a good home for him. I hope he will not miss Arwen too much and vice versa when he does finally leave. I am glad though they got to grow up together and in my cat colony, so they could learn appropriate cat etiquette, and enjoy each others company. When Arwen’s brothers left, she needed a new playmate and my other cats were already too grown up. He was just what the doctor ordered.
UPDATE: our Falkie has found a permanent home in my cat colony now, since he was never really picked up by his new owner. He is done being a teenager now and has taken over our bedroom as his kingdom where he is very happy. He has become more cuddly and less annoying though he will still occasionally test our Prinny ;)
