Arwen: The Cute and Fluffy One

Arwen2

Arwen is…just plain adorable. Being the youngest in a colony of five cats has taught her one thing: diplomacy and cuteness will get you just about anything.

Arwen is semi-longhaired, black with white chin and neck, white toes on the front paws and long white stockings on the back paws. Her tail is this big plume with black and white mixed in together. She also has a damaged eye which has been operated, and is healing. When she was younger she had a serious eye-infection that urged Mother Nature to put her third eyelid over her eye to protect it. Unfortunately, it grew stuck that way, so the doctor at the animal clinic where I work had to open the eye up again. Now a beautiful green-yellow eye is peeking through.

Since she was hand raised by me since she was four weeks young, she sees me as her mom, and that makes for one of the most beautiful bonds possible between felines and humans. She is incredibly easy-going, every other cat likes her (even the Prinny!), although Lulu has no real need to be around her. She is always upbeat, ready for a game of rough and tumble with the Falcor or even the Prinny. It is amazing but even Prinny plays with the Arwen and although she is pretty rough, Arwen is nowhere near scared of her when she comes over all hyper. This kitten is too sweet and too trustworthy for this world, seriously.

She actually walks on a leash with me outside, and has a lot of fun as long as there aren’t too many loud noises around. She comes and cuddles and suckles like a little kitten on your sweater, making the loudest purring sound you have ever heard. Wave any toy at her and she is there to chase it.

The only time she actually grouches is when she sees cats she doesn’t know or even worse: when she has to visit to sweet doctor at the clinic who helped her. And even then she will never be aggressive.

Everyone who has met her goes instantly: Awwwww. And how can they not? She is the ultimate cuddle kitten which will turn on its evil charming powers from the moment you walk through that door. And she is damn good at it.
Together with her buddy Falcor she raids my house on a regular basis, and tear everything down they come across on their way. Door styles, walls, closets, chairs and beds are all made to hang from, jump onto, run across and preferably all of the above at the same time. They consider it the perfect place to chase after each other and keep life interesting.

When a little kitten like her puts her life in your hands at four weeks, to keep giving you that same trust when she doesn’t have to anymore, and purrs you awake in the morning with the sweetest voice…what else could you possibly still wish for in life? At first, I meant for her to have a good home somewhere else, but in the end, I was not able to let go of her. And I don’t think it is hard to see why.
