Princess: the Prissy One

Prinny7

Who is Prinny? Wel, Prinny is a unique kitten, which I unfortunately inherited without being given a manual.

Prinny9
She has the most beautiful blue grey coat, green eyes to match and a tiny, elegant build. She is a Russian blue (a breed that was very popular with the nobles back when), we suspect. This breed is known for its intense bond with just one particular human, and its overall disdain towards other animals. They are most unwilling to share their attention and territory with other animals, are incredibly vulnerable to stress, and the most affectionate cats you can imagine. This all makes for a very interesting package.

She is about five years old, and the matriarch of my little cat colony. It took her a while to warm up to the other cats( I didn’t know at the time of adding those others, that she didn’t like other animals), but the gentleness of the Trini softened the blow and prepared her for the hellish monster named Lulu. Together, Prinny and I negotiated a truce between her and Lulu, and built up her resilience towards other cats.

Prinny8
As Lulu noticed, she isn’t one for play, although that too has improved. When Lulu was added (and later the kittens which raced through the house), she was most dismayed of all the hopping through the house that was going on. Nowadays she does have her moments where she too will run around like a cat on speed. It is kind of scary to see though…it is like she has a split personality at times.

Prinny10
After the kittens joined (and that was not without a certain amount of hissing and growling and protesting from her side) she actually turned out to be quite the little mother. Although not the most patient cat I know, she can be surprisingly tolerant towards kittens and neurotic on keeping them clean and licking them all over. That does not mean she will let a naughty kitten go unpunished.

Prinny6
She is a major control-freak (you know, every kitten has its place, and has to follow the right etiquette), which causes her a great deal of stress. She will also insist on attention from me the moment I set foot in the door. She has become less clingy with the amount of cats I brought in, but with the exception of Arwen, whom I hand raised, she is the most affectionate cat I have.

She was my first and my bond with her is the strongest. Despite all the problems I have had on her account, I wouldn’t know what to do without her.
